Sally Henrick
It is with great pride that the Ridgemont Board of Education announces the hiring of Sally Henrick as their new superintendent beginning July 1, 2018. With a focus on preserving and building the culture and educational expectations set in the district over the last several years, the Board is pleased to have raised up an internal candidate to carry out the mission. Board President Dave Copp shared, “We are excited to bring Sally Henrick into the superintendent’s role. She has proven her skills and her dedication to our vision. Knowing we can move a candidate into this critical position who will not miss a beat is important to us. She lives in the district and has chosen to make our community her home.” The Ridgemont Board of Education worked with previous superintendent, Emmy Beeson, to create and adopt a directional system which guides all decision making in the district. The majority of the Ridgemont Board believes succession planning to grow and develop staff from within the Ridgemont team is a top priority and is thrilled to see Sally rise up through the ranks. With this in mind, the interim, co-superintendents, Dr. Suzanne Darmer and Mrs. Ann Harvey will be charged with mentoring Sally Henrick to create the smoothest transition possible. Dr. Darmer stated, “Sally Henrick is an excellent choice for Ridgemont’s next superintendent. In addition to her devotion to Ridgemont Schools, she is competent, caring and student-focused. Sally has been instrumental in developing Ridgemont’s existing directional system. Her heart is in this work.”

Sally Henrick taught for seven years with six of those being for Ridgemont Local Schools as a fifth grade teacher. She served as Hardin Northern’s K-6 principal for six years and will serve three years as Ridgemont’s K-12 Principal of Curriculum and Instruction. She comes to this position with a BA in Agriculture from The Ohio State University and a Masters in Education and her superintendent’s license from the University of Findlay. Along with her educational background, she also brings the unique perspective of business and industry to the table. She worked for two years with USDA Natural Resources Conservation Services and five years with the Allen County Soil and Water Conservation District.

As Sally Henrick thinks about her appointment to the Ridgemont superintendency, she says, “We have grown so much as a district, from our new 21st century building to the instruction and learning opportunities that happen within it. I am very excited and humbled to have been offered this opportunity to continue the great work we have started here at Ridgemont.” Henrick will spend the next several months working alongside the interim, co-superintendents as she prepares to take the helm. Likewise, this year long transition plan allows the Board to post for a K-12 Curriculum and Instruction Principal’s position early in 2018 to seek out the most qualified candidate to complement the Ridgemont Leadership Team.
